Wrexham AFC have announced a significant upgrade to the STōK Cold Brew Coffee Stand at the historic STōK Cae Ras stadium, with rail seating set to be installed as part of a major improvement to fan facilities.
The project, confirmed today by the club, will see rail seating introduced in the upper tier of the stand behind the goal — offering supporters designated areas where they can safely stand during key match moments while maintaining compliance with all current safety regulations.
Rail seating combines traditional seating with integrated safety barriers, allowing seats to be locked upright to create a “safe standing” environment. This modern solution has been adopted by a number of clubs across Europe and in the UK’s top divisions to enhance atmosphere without compromising spectator welfare.
According to club sources, work is due to begin after Wrexham’s home fixture against Leicester City on January 20, with the installation expected to be completed by February 7 — in time for the next home match against Millwall.
Despite the installation of rail seating, the stadium will officially remain an all-seater under its licence until the end of the 2025/26 season. This means standing will be permitted only at designated safe moments, such as goals or other exciting phases of play.
For supporters, the upgrade represents a tangible improvement in matchday experience — combining the best of traditional seating safety with the vibrant atmosphere of standing support. It also reflects Wrexham’s ongoing commitment to enhancing facilities as the club competes in the Championship and looks toward future growth.
