Three new signings on Wrexham’s wishlist as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac set transfer budget

As Wrexham AFC continues its stunning rise through the English Football League, co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are backing manager Phil Parkinson with an ambitious transfer budget aimed at strengthening the squad in the Championship. After a busy summer window that saw significant investment in players like Nathan Broadhead, Lewis O’Brien, and Josh Windass, the Red Dragons are already plotting further reinforcements to boost their second-tier campaign.

At the top of Wrexham’s wishlist is Patrick Bamford. The experienced striker, currently surplus to requirements at Leeds United, represents a proven goalscorer who could add cutting edge to Wrexham’s attack. His Championship and Premier League pedigree would be invaluable as the club pushes for stability and progression.

Defensively, Wrexham have been linked with Chris Mepham of Bournemouth. A solid centre-half with Championship experience, Mepham would help shore up a backline that has looked vulnerable at times, offering leadership and calm on the ball.

In midfield, the club has reportedly held talks for Jordan James, the Wales international currently starring at Rennes. James would bring youthful energy and creativity, providing a dynamic link between defence and attack. Secondary interest in Southampton’s Will Smallbone suggests Wrexham are serious about bolstering creativity in the centre of the pitch.

With Reynolds and McElhenney’s financial backing, Wrexham’s targeted approach in the transfer market aims to blend experience, quality, and long-term potential as they strive to establish themselves in the Championship.
